It’s been a full year since we became one and the same with masks and all things “sanitizer” and even though it’s been twelve months, it’s still tough to happily stay at home with our immediate family or roommates. To try to make upcoming vacations more manageable and start getting COVID-free ideas for Mexico’s labor day weekend and Memorial Day weekend, here are a few at-home options to make the most of staying in and staying sane.
1) Create a four day at home retreat
– Day 1: Spa day
– Day 2: Take a break from social media & pick up a craft (maybe painting?)
– Day 3: Take a yoga or meditation class
– Day 4: Feng shui a room in your house to keep good energy flowing
– Day 5: Drink your tea or coffee in your new feng shui area
2) Create a themed four day “getaway”
– Day 1: Pick a city or a country. Set the tone playing said place’s traditional songs, “Alexa, make me feel I’m in Paris”
– Day 2: Plan a french cooking class and relax with a glass of wine
– Day 3: Tour the city with virtually, Google earth? YouTube tours?
– Day 4: Rest up and watch your favorite french movies
Want to be more in touch with nature? Try camping in your backyard or set a tent indoors and recreate a glamping retreat… let your imagination flow.
3) Be a tourist in your community
– Plan a few day trips to downtown areas
– Plan a picnic at a nice park
– Go to the beach and take in the view (socially distanced from others of course)
– Visit a nearby town
– Order in from new place
