1. Consume colorful produce: Try adding spinach, tomatoes, carrots, beets…the more colors the healthier you’ll feel!
  2. Eat less saturated fat: Red meats, butter and dairy are good, but it’s best to consume them in smaller quantities. Switch it up with olive oil and white meat such as turkey, chicken or fish!
  3. Alcohol: More than one drink a day increases your chances of being diagnosed with breast cancer.
  4. Soy: According to a study from the American Cancer Society, eating 10 to 20 milligrams of isoflavones from soy foods a day may be linked with a reduction in risk of being diagnosed with breast cancer.
  5. Don’t microwave in plastic containers or drink water bottles that have been left in the heat: bisphenol A (BPA) could leach into your food.
  6. Eat more fresh food: Try avoiding canned food. The fresher, the better.
  7. Don’t char your meat: Although the black lines and crispy bits might seem tasty, it contains heterocyclic amines [HCAs] which have been associated with an increased risk of breast cancer.
