INGREDIENTS

6 clean whole nopales

1 cup black beans fried or mashed

½ onion finely sliced chopped into slices

1 cup of fresh cheese or panela

1 cup tomato sauce or hot sauce (your preference)

PREPARATION TIME 15-20 MINUTES

 

INSTRUCTIONS

If you want to give the nopal a round shape you can cut it with a cookie cutter or knife with due care, if not, you can use the whole nopal. In a flat pan over medium heat, roast them for 2 or 3 minutes on each side and then roast the onion slices until they take on a transparent appearance.

Spread each roasted nopal with a layer of beans, add the roasted onion, fresh cheese or panela and the sauce of your choice.

It can be prepared as a breakfast or a light dinner.
